DECA
I joined DECA as a freshman and it has changed my life completely. I learned how to think on my feet while also experiencing business and marketing in a new, competitive way. As a freshman, I placed first in my district and was a finalist for the state competition. As a sophomore, I was the Project Manager of Social Media and Marketing for the Rock Ridge DECA Leadership Team and placed 7th at the state competition, where my team and I qualified for the International Conference (ICDC). During my time with the leadership team, I had the opportunity to work one on one with DECA members to help prepare for district, state, and international competitions. Additionally, I took lead when the team decided to present the DECA Dress Code to the Rock Ridge DECA Chapter. During my junior year, I acted as Vice President of Communications. In this role, I took charge when sending information out to our chapter. In my senior year, I hold the position of the Rock Ridge DECA Chapter President, with a plan to bring back many of the activities, fundraisers, and events we lost this year due to COVID.
NVVA
For my 2021 club volleyball season with NVVA, I was the first of many to step up and take a lead on the court. I knew our rotation in and out and never hesitated to lend a hand to a teammate. I fought every second while on the court and encouraged all my teammate to do the same. There's no way we could've won our tournament if we all didn't bring 110% of our energy. We either won together or lost together, but also win or lose we were a team and celebrated every moment we had on the court. Additionally, communication is key when it comes to many things, especially sports. When things aren't communicated properly, points are lost, which is why my team focused the most on communication rather than strategy. As long as our communication was strong, nothing could bring us down.
